Dell Precision 7740 17.3″ Overview

Designed for professionals, this laptop features a 6-core Intel Core i7-9850H processor running at 2.6 GHz and 32 GB DDR4 memory, allowing you to handle demanding tasks such as video editing and 3D rendering. The 17.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 FHD UltraSharp anti-glare IPS display offers 100% sRGB color gamut, and is powered by the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 graphics card, designed with artists, designers, and engineers in mind. You can connect up to two 8K (7680 x 4320) monitors using the built-in Mini DisplayPort and one of the two Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C ports, plus a 4K (4096 x 2160) display via HDMI input. The dedicated PowerShare port allows you to charge USB devices, such as phones, portable music players, and more, even when the system is off, using the 6-cell 97Wh lithium-ion battery with ExpressCharge. Connect your Dell Precision 7740 workstation wirelessly via 802.11ax Wi-Fi or via wired Gigabit Ethernet. Both are designed to provide high-speed data transfers for backing up or distributing your work. The workstation comes with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed, and its performance can be further enhanced with the Dell Precision Optimizer, which automatically tunes your workstation to run programs at peak speed.

Dell Precision Optimizer is included free with your mobile workstation. It automatically adjusts your computer for specific programs to run at maximum speed and allows you to set system settings for optimal performance. This tool also collects extensive information about your computer for troubleshooting and can be configured to automatically download and apply software updates.
Upgrading to Dell Precision Optimizer Premium gives you an AI-powered program that learns the behavior of any user-specified application. Using machine learning, it identifies optimization opportunities and applies performance enhancements.
USB PowerShare
Dell USB PowerShare technology allows you to charge USB-powered devices such as phones, portable music players, and others using the laptop battery, even when the system is off.
Dell ExpressCharge
With Dell ExpressCharge, the laptop’s battery is typically charged to 80% or more in about an hour. A completely drained battery should be fully charged in about two hours when the laptop is turned off.
USB 3.1 Gen 1
USB 3.1 Gen 1 supports a maximum data transfer rate of up to 5 Gb/s. USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0 are interchangeable terms.
Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that uses a reversible USB Type-C connector. It doubles the speed of its predecessor, allowing for a maximum data transfer rate of up to 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also supports data transfer over USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and the dual-channel DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy-chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
