Exceptional image quality

The monitor has an impressive maximum resolution (2560 x 1440), a very good contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a brightness of 350 cd/m². For example, you can edit graphics and images pixel by pixel. As an additional advantage, the text contours are clear and precise. The LCD screen with an IPS (Wide Gamut) panel provides a viewing angle of 178 degrees. This ensures that hue and contrast remain stable for the viewer.

Wide color gamut

To use the full color spectrum of modern cameras, you need a monitor with the maximum possible color space. Only then can you visually assess and edit saturated shades in the file. Therefore, the ColorEdge CS2731 screen’s IPS panel, for example, covers a wide range of AdobeRGB photos as well as the CMYK print range with an ISO V2 coating in over 99%. This means that the entire color spectrum of modern cameras is presented unchanged and without gaps. Accurate simulation of the print result is also ensured in soft proofing mode.

Smooth and fluid transitions and gradients thanks to the 16-bit LUT and 10-bit mode

The LUT (look-up-table) on the CS2731 uses internal calculations with 16 bits for an exceptionally high color depth and outputs signals with up to 10 bits. This ensures billions of shades to calculate the monitor’s precise display, effectively preventing screen errors caused by the monitor, such as banding or clipping, which can lead to tone breaks in transitions or unnecessary colors in shadows. Even subtle nuances and textures in dark or highly saturated image areas can be displayed in a clear and detailed way.

Digital Uniformity Equalizer

Each individual monitor panel is precisely measured across the entire surface at the EIZO factory. All brightness inhomogeneities and unnecessary colors are detected and removed. This process (Digital Uniformity Equalizer) ensures that the same colors always look the same throughout the monitor’s entire lifespan, regardless of where they are displayed. This is the only way to achieve precise image processing.

EIZO microchip

The CS2731 features a high-quality microchip (ASIC, Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) that EIZO developed specifically for the special requirements of work that demands high color accuracy. This microchip is the brain of the ColorEdge, as it ensures precise, consistent, and continuous image display, which is the hallmark of EIZO.
